Welcome to a little piece of me...
Heya! Its so lovely to have you here. My name is Kylie-Anne, the creative entrepreneur behind The House Of Lily White. I am a multidisciplinary designer who started my creative journey when I was knee-high to a grasshopper, constantly drawing the world that inspired me & re-designing our lounge room [ sorry mum ] loving how every time you moved something it looked & felt a little different - Much like a holiday.
As I grew I found out I could create, build & design as a job [ mind blown ] and fell into my dream career as an Interior & Architectural Building Designer creating spaces for all kinds of humans to inspire their own kind of beauty to live, love and do life in. I felt so lucky to find my purpose in helping people while loving my job to the point it didn't feel like work. [ Yes that means you work a bajillion hours overtime contrary to most opinions lol ] My favourite part was being able to pull out pieces of my clients & inject them into their spaces so that you could 'see' them in their homes.
In my mid 20's my world completely changed all due to the slow progressive effects of a virus I got when I was 16. I had to leave my dream and my life as I knew it. I lost who I was & with that my purpose [ something I think we will all go through in different stages throughout our lives ] While looking for my 'new normal' I found Surface Design and have been funnelling my creative skills into designing wallpaper, fabrics & home décor so that I can continue helping, lifting & inspiring every kind of human. It has reignited my creative brain & given me my purpose back in a sustainable way for me & hopefully a valuable way for you.
My Style
When I was designing buildings & their interiors, I always leaned towards a more traditional // vintage vibe while creating something that fits well into our modern world. So it's no surprise after lots of trial & error, I have circled back around to creating collections that are more traditionally inspired with an element of modern creation so that they suit whatever space they are in.
I think it is so important for us to be at 'home' in every aspect of our lives. To feel beautiful, our true selves and proud within our surroundings. With the help of my trusty pencil & a bundle of tech support, I hope that together we are able to create your own kind of beautiful.
